Under the auspices of Health & Medical Gold Coast (HMGC), a Gold Coast City Council cluster initiative, health and medical businesses and organisations have the opportunity to collaborate on prioritising competitive challenges, cooperate to capture new and existing opportunities, and participate in an educational and informative environment to support the growth of the health and medical industry in the City.

The health and medical sector contributes substantially to Gold Coast City's economy, with over 1300 businesses and organisations employing over 4000 people. It is estimated that the industry contributes over $650 million to the local economy.
